Job Description
We are a small Brooklyn-based sandwich catering company looking for a Prep Cook to join our kitchen crew. We offer a positive, welcoming supportive place to work and a great learning opportunity. People of all backgrounds and identifies are encouraged to apply.
What were looking for:
- NYC food handlers license with knowledge of food safety and health regulations
- Weekday and morning availabilities. We start as early as 7:00 AM, but will have coffee ready! The day usually ends around 3:00 PM. We have flexibility with scheduling as needed.
- Someone reliable and punctual b/c our small crew relies on each other
- Great organizational skills and attention to detail
- Someone that works cleanly and neatly
- A great communicator
- Takes initiative and ownership of tasks
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
- Must have basic knife skills
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Responsibility:
- Daily food production including prepping fresh ingredients (chopping, slicing, portioning, making sauces, etc.)
- Sandwich + salad assembly
- Follows recipes
- A little of everything as needed in a small kitchen dishwashing, sweeping, etc.
