Our client, a national leader in facility maintenance solutions, is seeking a highly experienced Senior HVAC Technician to provide critical remote technical support for their field operations. The Senior HVAC Technician will act as a primary point of contact for advanced technical inquiries, utilizing video conferencing, diagnostic tools, and documentation to assist field personnel. You will be instrumental in diagnosing intricate HVAC system issues, recommending appropriate repair procedures, and ensuring the safety and efficiency of installations and maintenance across various client sites. This role requires a deep understanding of commercial and industrial HVAC systems, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate technical information clearly and effectively.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert remote technical support and guidance to field service technicians on complex HVAC system diagnoses and repairs.
  • Utilize remote diagnostic tools, video conferencing, and schematics to troubleshoot issues effectively.
  • Develop and document step-by-step repair procedures for common and uncommon HVAC system failures.
  • Review field reports and diagnostic data to identify root causes of system malfunctions.
  • Advise on the proper installation, maintenance, and servicing of a wide range of HVAC equipment (e.g., chillers, boilers, rooftop units, VRF systems).
  • Train and mentor field technicians on best practices, new technologies, and safety protocols related to HVAC systems.
  • Stay current with industry advancements, codes, and regulations pertinent to HVAC systems.
  • Contribute to the development of technical documentation, training materials, and knowledge base articles.
  • Collaborate with engineering and product development teams on system improvements and warranty issues.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies during remote guidance.
  • Escalate critical issues to management and relevant departments as needed.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience as an HVAC Technician, with a strong focus on commercial and industrial systems.
  • EPA Universal Certification required.
  • NATE certification is highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to diagnose and repair complex HVAC system issues.
  • Proficiency with HVAC diagnostic tools, meters, and control systems.
  • Excellent technical communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex issues to varying audiences.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Experience with remote support technologies (e.g., video conferencing, AR tools) is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
  • Willingness to occasionally travel for training or critical on-site support if necessary (though the role is primarily remote).
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree or trade school certification in HVAC is preferred.
