Process Improvement Engineer - Lean Manufacturing

Our client is actively seeking a dedicated and innovative Process Improvement Engineer to join their fully remote operations team. This role is central to driving efficiency and optimizing production processes within a Lean manufacturing framework. The successful candidate will leverage their expertise in industrial engineering principles, continuous improvement methodologies, and data analysis to identify bottlenecks, reduce waste, and enhance overall operational performance. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, providing data-driven recommendations and implementing sustainable process enhancements. This position requires a self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a remote work setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement in efficiency, quality, and cost reduction.
  • Develop and implement Lean manufacturing principles, including Kaizen events, 5S, Value Stream Mapping, and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Design and optimize workflows, layouts, and material handling systems to eliminate waste and improve productivity.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret production data to identify trends, root causes of issues, and opportunities for optimization.
  • Develop and present detailed proposals for process improvements, including cost-benefit analyses and implementation plans.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in the execution of process improvement projects.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of implemented changes.
  • Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and training materials to ensure sustained improvements.
  • Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging technologies in process optimization and automation.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in process improvement, Lean manufacturing, or operations management.
  • Strong understanding and practical application of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Proven ability to analyze complex data and translate findings into actionable improvement plans.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Proficiency with process mapping tools, statistical analysis software, and simulation tools.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, effective for remote collaboration.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a remote environment.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or production setting is essential.
  • Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification is highly preferred.
