Principal DevSecOps Engineer

Job Description

Applied Research Solutions is seeking a full-time Principal DevSecOps Engineer. This role will be supporting AFLCMC/HNA. The candidate must have experience with Tactical Data Links, DevSecOps, Cloud, MBSE, JIRA, Confluence, Git and Cameo.

This is a full-time position located at Hanscom Air Force Base, MA. The Principal DevSecOps Engineer will provide DevSecOps systems engineering support applying a broad theoretical and practical knowledge of systems engineering principles to support the acquisition lifecycle and technical execution of complex programs.

Responsibilities
  • Support implementation and execution of Agile software development and integration activities in coordination with Government and prime contractors.
  • Conduct program and portfolio reviews to evaluate technical plans, systems engineering activities, and test results to ensure subsystem and system performance meets approved program specifications.
  • Prepare technical documentation, manuals, management reports, and presentations defining system and subsystem characteristics and supporting program planning and corrective actions.
  • Provide systems engineering and technical support across the acquisition lifecycle, including development, integration, deployment, sustainment, installation, and operational oversight.
  • Perform system validation activities, including development of evaluation criteria and procedures and analysis of engineering results.
  • Support program risk management activities in compliance with Air Force Systems Engineering Assessment Model (SEAM) processes.
  • Conduct engineering trade studies evaluating performance, cost effectiveness, life cycle cost, reliability, maintainability, risk, and schedule impacts.
  • Provide technical recommendation support services, including engineering reviews, studies, audits, analyses, documentation development, and support of Integrated Product Teams (IPTs).
  • Provide technical and proposal analysis support, comparing systems, components, and approaches for feasibility, compatibility, and cost effectiveness.
  • Provide concepts and requirements analysis support, including review of capability documentation such as ICDs, CDDs, CPDs, AoAs, CONOPs, Technology Development Strategies, and configuration audits (FCA/PCA).
  • Apply advanced engineering theories, principles, concepts, and methods to ensure work aligns with program objectives, cost, schedule, performance requirements, and established policies while collaborating with Government and contractor personnel to review system design, analysis, and testing.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Required Qualifications
  • Degreed engineer (bachelor's or master's degree)
  • 10+ years of C++ working in DOD based programs and ideally within networking and data links
  • US Citizen with current Secret clearance, eligible for TS/SCI
  • Experienced in MBSE and Cameo modelling tools
  • Understanding of requirement traceability through design to validation and verification
  • Experienced in modern software implementation and deployment technologies containers, microservices and cloud computing
  • Multiproject experience in JIRA, Confluence and Git
  • Experience integrating, configuring, and optimizing software for platform hardware
  • Understanding of Agile and DevSecOps methodologies and environments
Preferred Qualifications
  • Project experience in IP Networking and Architecture
  • Understanding of OMS, UCI and AMSGRA
  • Air Force Data Links

The expected annual salary range: $175k - $195k. Salary is dependent upon the role and associated responsibilities, candidate's experience, and qualifications to include education/training, and key skills.
