Remote CDL Truck Driver, Long Haul Specialist
Job Description
Our client, a leading logistics and transportation provider, is looking for experienced and dedicated CDL Truck Drivers to join their fully remote, nationwide fleet. This is an excellent opportunity for professional drivers seeking consistent, long-haul routes with competitive compensation and the flexibility of a remote work setup. You will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting goods across the country, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
As a CDL Truck Driver, your primary responsibilities will include operating tractor-trailers over long distances, ensuring the timely and secure delivery of freight. You will perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the truck and trailer are in safe operating condition, reporting any maintenance issues promptly. Maintaining accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, and delivery details using electronic logging devices (ELDs) or paper logs is crucial. Adhering to all federal, state, and local regulations governing the transportation of goods, including hours of service, weight limits, and hazardous materials protocols, is mandatory. You will be responsible for properly securing cargo to prevent shifting or damage during transit. Communicating effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules, potential delays, and any issues encountered en route is essential. Navigating routes efficiently, optimizing fuel consumption, and ensuring the overall safety of yourself and others on the road are paramount. This role requires a high degree of self-discipline, time management, and responsibility, as you will be operating independently for extended periods. Our client values safety above all else and provides ongoing training and support to ensure compliance and success.
The ideal candidate will possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record. A minimum of 2 years of verifiable over-the-road (OTR) driving experience is required. Experience with dry van, reefer, or flatbed trailers is a plus. Knowledge of electronic logging devices (ELDs) is essential. Must be able to pass a DOT physical and drug screening. Strong understanding of federal and state transportation regulations is necessary. Excellent defensive driving skills and a commitment to safety are paramount. The ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and maintain professionalism on the road is critical. This is a remote position, meaning drivers manage their routes and schedules with support from dispatch, offering a unique level of autonomy and flexibility within the trucking industry.
