Job Description
Chitori, a new Japanese restaurant and cocktail bar, is opening in Flatiron and is looking to build our bar team. The beverage program, spearheaded by Ray Zhou and Jeff White formerly of Chinato, will focus on Japanese products and spirits.

Chitori is a brand new modern Japanese restaurant and cocktail bar in downtown NYC, focused on high-quality food, thoughtful service, and a refined but welcoming atmosphere. We aim to create a memorable dining experience through high-quality cuisines, attention to detail and hospitality.
Responsibilities:
Open and close bar efficiently and in timely manner
Provide friendly, attentive, and professional service to guests
Take food and beverage orders accurately
Prepare cocktails in efficient and timely manner
Handles cash, credit, and debit card transactions, ensuring charges are accurate, returning correct change to patrons, and balancing the cash register.
M aintains responsible service of alcohol to all customers including checking identification for proof of age.
Performs inventory at the direction of the Bar Manager. Responsible for training new employees as assigned.
Maintains inventory levels for all liquor, beer, wine, and bar items for service to customers.
Organizes and shelves beer and liquor deliveries.
Completes all assigned side work related to set up and breakdown of bar area and restocking the bar for the next shift.
Have strong knowledge of menu items (Japanese cuisine, sake, cocktails)
Deliver food and drinks in a timely manner
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area
Work closely with kitchen and bar team
Handle guest questions and resolve issues calmly
Requirements:
At least 2 years of bartending experience in NYC or comparable market
Ability to lift at least 40lbs
Excellent knowledge of classic cocktails and modern bartending technique
Knowledge of Japanese cocktail culture, spirits, sake and flavors a plus
NYC Food Handler's License or ability and willingness to obtain one upon hire
Must be reachable by email and able to communicate via phone as well.
Strong communication and customer service skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Team player with a positive attitude
Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S
Preferred
Experience in upscale or Japanese dining
Familiar with sake or cocktail service
Bilingual (English + Japanese/Spanish is a plus)
