Our client is a major financial institution looking for a skilled Fund Accounting Consultant to join their team on a long-term contract basis. In this role, you will oversee a team responsible for delivering high-quality accounting, administration, and investor services to investment companies and advisors. This position requires a strong ability to manage client relationships, resolve complex issues, and implement solutions tailored to evolving business needs.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of administrators responsible for accounting, administration, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance for investment companies, including hedge funds, private equity funds, and CLOs.
- Lead month-end close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliation.
- Help develop/implement new processes to align with regulatory and industry changes.
- Perform complex accounting reconciliations and calculations for various investment types
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Five to seven years of experience in the alternative investments industry.
- Proficiency in month-end close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Strong knowledge of general ledger management and financial statement audits.
- Experience handling complex investment types and calculations, such as incentive fees and expense reconciliations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to identify risks and implement effective solutions.
- Outstanding communication and leadership skills to manage teams and foster client relationships.
- Familiarity with regulatory reporting requirements within the investment management sector.
