Senior Cybersecurity Engineer (Remote)

Job Description

Our client, a rapidly growing tech firm specializing in secure digital solutions, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to join their fully remote team. This role is crucial for safeguarding the company's digital assets and infrastructure against evolving cyber threats. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in cybersecurity principles, threat analysis, and incident response, coupled with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a virtual environment. Responsibilities include:
  • Designing, implementing, and maintaining robust security systems and controls across the organization's network, applications, and data.
  • Conducting regular vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and security audits to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Developing and executing incident response plans, investigating security breaches, and coordinating remediation efforts.
  • Monitoring security alerts and logs, analyzing threat intelligence, and staying ahead of emerging cybersecurity threats.
  • Creating and enforcing security policies, standards, and procedures to ensure compliance with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborating with IT and development teams to integrate security best practices into the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and system architecture.
  • Providing security awareness training and guidance to employees.
  • Evaluating and recommending new security technologies and solutions.
  • Documenting security configurations, procedures, and incident reports.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in cybersecurity, with a strong focus on network security, application security, and cloud security.
  • Proven experience with security information and event management (SIEM) tools, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), firewalls, and endpoint security solutions.
  • Expertise in threat modeling, vulnerability management, and risk assessment.
  • Demonstrated experience in incident response and forensic analysis.
  • Strong understanding of encryption, authentication protocols, and secure coding practices.
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or OSCP are highly desirable.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex security concepts clearly.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
  • Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
