Our client, a premier event management firm, is looking for an innovative and experienced Executive Catering Chef to lead their culinary vision from a remote capacity. This unique role offers the opportunity to shape menus, guide culinary operations, and ensure exceptional food quality for high-profile events without being tied to a specific kitchen location. You will be instrumental in developing creative and sophisticated menus that cater to diverse palates and dietary requirements, focusing on seasonal ingredients and culinary trends. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with event planners and clients to understand their specific needs and vision, overseeing food cost control, sourcing high-quality ingredients, and developing standardized recipes and preparation guidelines for partner kitchens.

The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations, strong leadership capabilities, and a proven ability to manage culinary operations remotely. You should be adept at recipe development, menu engineering, and have a keen eye for presentation. Experience with various international cuisines and fine dining is highly desirable. This role requires excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently. You will be the culinary cornerstone of our client's events, ensuring memorable dining experiences that exceed client expectations. This is a fully remote position, requiring self-discipline and a proactive approach to managing culinary aspects of events across various locations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop innovative and diverse menus for various catering events, considering client preferences, dietary needs, and current culinary trends.
  • Collaborate with clients and event planners to customize menus and ensure a seamless culinary experience.
  • Source and select high-quality ingredients, establishing relationships with reliable suppliers.
  • Create standardized recipes, plating guides, and preparation instructions for event kitchens.
  • Ensure adherence to all food safety and sanitation standards (HACCP, ServSafe).
  • Provide culinary direction and training guidance to on-site catering teams (where applicable).
  • Manage food costs and contribute to budget planning for culinary aspects of events.
  • Stay updated on the latest culinary techniques, ingredients, and industry best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any culinary challenges that arise during event execution.

Qualifications:
  • Culinary degree from an accredited institution or equivalent professional experience.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in high-volume catering or fine dining, with a focus on menu development and kitchen management.
  • Proven experience in recipe creation, costing, and food production.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage projects and coordinate with multiple stakeholders in a remote environment.
  • Portfolio showcasing diverse menu creations and successful event execution.
