Job Description

Our client is offering an exciting opportunity for a motivated Junior Data Scientist to join their innovative team in a fully remote capacity. This is an ideal role for a recent graduate or early-career professional looking to launch their career in data science. You will work alongside experienced data scientists and analysts, contributing to the development and implementation of predictive models, machine learning algorithms, and data-driven insights that inform critical business decisions. Responsibilities include data cleaning and preprocessing, exploratory data analysis, feature engineering, model building and evaluation, and contributing to the documentation and communication of findings. The ideal candidate possesses a strong foundation in statistics, mathematics, programming (Python or R), and a keen interest in uncovering patterns and trends within complex datasets. Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in collecting, cleaning, and preprocessing large datasets from various sources.
  • Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.
  • Develop and implement statistical models and machine learning algorithms under guidance.
  • Conduct hypothesis testing and A/B testing to validate findings.
  • Evaluate model performance and iterate on approaches to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with senior data scientists to interpret results and extract actionable insights.
  • Assist in the development of data visualizations and reports to communicate findings to stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the documentation of data science processes, methodologies, and code.
  • Stay current with the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to brainstorming sessions for new data initiatives.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
  • Strong understanding of statistical concepts and machine learning algorithms.
  • Proficiency in Python or R, including relevant data science libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow/PyTorch).
  • Experience with SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Matplotlib, Seaborn, Tableau).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment.
  • A proactive attitude and a strong desire to learn and grow in the field of data science.
