Our client, a leading innovator in industrial automation solutions, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Engineer to contribute to their cutting-edge product development in **Tampa, Florida, US**. This role is integral to designing, developing, and testing mechanical systems and components for advanced machinery. The ideal candidate will possess a strong theoretical foundation in mechanical engineering principles, combined with practical experience in design, analysis, and prototyping. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, software developers, and manufacturing specialists, to deliver high-performance, reliable, and cost-effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop mechanical components, sub-systems, and complete systems using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
  • Perform complex engineering analysis, including stress, thermal, and dynamic simulations, to validate designs.
  • Create detailed manufacturing drawings, specifications, and bill of materials.
  • Oversee prototyping and testing of mechanical designs, analyze results, and implement design modifications.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to ensure designs are optimized for production and assembly.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues that arise during product development or in fielded systems.
  • Research and evaluate new materials, technologies, and manufacturing processes.
  • Contribute to the development of technical documentation, user manuals, and test procedures.
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and customer requirements.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and technicians.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical design and product development, preferably in industrial automation or a related field.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, CATIA) and CAE tools for simulation (e.g., ANSYS, COMSOL).
  • Strong understanding of mechanics, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and materials science.
  • Experience with prototyping methods and various manufacturing processes (machining, 3D printing, injection molding).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory compliance is a plus.
