Job Description

Esme is a neighborhood bistro opening on Divisadero street this Spring: focused on seasonally driven French-inspired bistro fare with a thoughtful European-leaning wine program. The space is intimate, with a cozy dining room and a tucked-away patio.

Our service is intentional, team-oriented, well-paced, and guest-focused. We are building our opening front-of-house team and are looking for servers who take pride in hospitality and want to be part of something from the ground up.

The Role
Servers at Esme are responsible for creating a warm, polished, and highly attentive guest experience. We really want to build relationships with our clientele and neighbors and to become a place guests feel they can dine at regularly. We take pride in being both quality-driven and accessible in price point and our service approach. Our number one responsibility is to take care of the people who chose to dine with us.

Responsibilities include:
Providing attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely warm service
Guiding guests through the menu, including food and wine pairings
Maintaining a clean, organized section and strong table awareness
Communicating clearly with the kitchen and team
Contributing to a smooth, thoughtful flow of service

Required Experience
2 years prior serving experience in a service oriented restaurant
Able to execute proper clearing, serving, marking of tables in accordance with fine dining standards
Strong wine knowledge - equivalent to CMS level 2 with a strong understanding of French wine

Compensation
$19.61/hour + tips
