Our client, a prominent player in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector, is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Remote FMCG Supply Chain Strategist. This position is fully remote, allowing you to leverage your expertise from anywhere. You will be instrumental in designing and optimizing the end-to-end supply chain, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and responsiveness to market demands. Key responsibilities include developing strategic supply chain plans, identifying opportunities for process improvement, implementing innovative solutions for logistics and distribution, and managing supplier relationships. You will analyze supply chain performance metrics, forecast demand, and mitigate risks to ensure seamless product flow from manufacturing to the consumer. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of FMCG market dynamics, inventory management, global logistics, and procurement strategies. Proficiency with supply chain management software and advanced analytical tools is crucial. Excellent communication and collaboration skills are necessary to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and operations, as well as external partners. - Develop and execute strategic plans for the FMCG supply chain, covering procurement, manufacturing, warehousing, and distribution.
- Identify and implement opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency gains across the supply chain.
- Optimize inventory levels and management strategies to meet demand while minimizing holding costs.
- Manage and develop relationships with key suppliers and logistics partners.
- Utilize advanced analytics and forecasting tools to predict demand and plan production accordingly.
- Assess and mitigate supply chain risks, developing contingency plans for disruptions.
- Implement and manage supply chain technologies and systems to enhance visibility and control.
- Collaborate with internal departments (Sales, Marketing, Operations) to align supply chain activities with business objectives.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide regular reports on supply chain performance.
- Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in FMCG supply chain management.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in supply chain management, with a significant focus on the FMCG sector.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful supply chain strategies.
- In-depth knowledge of inventory management, demand planning, procurement, and logistics.
- Proficiency in supply chain planning software (e.g., SAP APO, Oracle SCM) and ERP systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience managing global supply chains is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and thrive in a remote, fast-paced environment.
