Job Description

As a Journeyman Electrician with PeopleReady Skilled Trades, youll support commercial and industrial projects throughout the Tuscaloosa area, including schools, hospitals, multi-family housing, hotels, and more.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics
• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems in commercial/industrial settings
• Bend and install conduit; pull wire of various gauges
• Install switches, outlets, fixtures, and complete final-phase electrical work
• Identify wire colors accurately and troubleshoot complex systems including motors and switchgear.
• Perform work on specialized sites, including schools, hospitals, and high-security federal or military installations.
• Ensure work complies with the current National Electrical Code (NEC)
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
• Use and maintain tools, equipment, and materials properly
• Work in confined spaces (e.g., crawl spaces, attics, utility areas) and at heights (ladders, lifts, scaffolding) as needed
• Lift, carry, and transport materials (up to 50 lbs) across various job site conditions
• Follow all safety protocols and wear required PPE

Requirements

• 5+ years of commercial or industrial electrical experience
• Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
• Reliable transportation
• Own basic tools of the trade, including a cordless impact
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions
• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and walk for extended periods
• Ability to navigate varied terrain (gravel, stairs, cramped spaces) and maintain balance while installing equipment from floor to ceiling.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation

The hourly rate for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hour. This range is a good-faith estimate based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, training, geographic location and other considerations permitted by law.
