Our client, a premier logistics and transportation company, is seeking experienced and reliable CDL A Truck Drivers to join their expanding fleet operating out of the New York City, New York, US area. - Operate commercial motor vehicles (CDL A) safely and efficiently in accordance with all traffic laws and company policies.
- Transport goods and materials to and from specified destinations within designated routes and timeframes.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment, reporting any defects or malfunctions.
- Secure cargo properly to prevent shifting or damage during transit.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, and delivery details using electronic logging devices (ELDs) or paper logs.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local regulations governing the transportation of goods.
- Deliver exceptional customer service to clients at delivery and pick-up locations.
- Report any accidents, incidents, or violations promptly to management.
- Assist with loading and unloading of cargo as needed, ensuring proper handling.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the vehicle.
- Participate in regular safety training sessions and meetings.
- Troubleshoot minor mechanical issues on the road if qualified and safe to do so.
- Ensure all necessary shipping documents are completed accurately and submitted on time.
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A.
- Clean driving record with no major violations or preventable accidents.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable experience operating a Class A commercial vehicle.
- Proficiency with electronic logging devices (ELDs) and other transportation technology.
- Strong understanding of safe driving practices and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, climbing, and bending, as required.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Professional attitude and strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to pass a DOT physical and drug screening.
- Familiarity with the New York City metropolitan area and surrounding regions is a plus.
