Pediatric Occupational Therapist (No Remote)
Job Description
Our client, a renowned pediatric therapy center, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Occupational Therapist to join their hands-on team. This role requires an on-site presence to provide direct patient care and collaborate with families and other healthcare professionals. You will work with children of all ages, from infancy to adolescence, addressing a wide range of developmental, sensory processing, motor skill, and cognitive challenges. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of child development, a creative approach to therapy, and a commitment to fostering independence and improving the quality of life for children and their families. You will be responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and implementing evidence-based interventions.

- Conduct thorough evaluations of children to assess their fine motor skills, gross motor skills, sensory processing, visual-motor skills, and self-care abilities.
- Develop and implement individualized, goal-oriented occupational therapy treatment plans in collaboration with families and the child.
- Provide direct therapy services in a one-on-one or group setting, utilizing evidence-based practices.
- Educate and train parents and caregivers on therapeutic strategies to support carryover of skills at home and in the community.
- Collaborate with pediatricians, psychologists, speech therapists, physical therapists, and educators to ensure a holistic approach to care.
- Adapt therapy activities and environments to meet the unique needs of each child.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient evaluations, treatment progress, and discharge summaries.
- Participate in team meetings and case conferences to discuss patient care and treatment strategies.
- Stay current with the latest research, techniques, and best practices in pediatric occupational therapy.
- Advocate for the needs of children and families within the healthcare and educational systems.
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Valid state license to practice occupational therapy in California.
- National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) certification.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience specifically in pediatric occupational therapy.
- Experience working with diverse populations and a variety of developmental and neurological conditions (e.g., Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, developmental delays, prematurity, genetic disorders).
- Knowledge of various therapeutic approaches, including sensory integration, play therapy, and motor control techniques.
- Excellent clinical reasoning, assessment, and treatment planning skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with children, families, and colleagues.
- Proficiency in documentation and electronic health record systems.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
