Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and optimize chemical processes for new and existing products, ensuring safety, efficiency, and environmental compliance.
- Utilize process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS) to model, analyze, and improve process performance.
- Conduct detailed process hazard analyses (PHAs) and implement recommendations to mitigate risks.
- Develop P&IDs, mass and energy balances, and equipment specifications.
- Troubleshoot process issues remotely, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, and project engineering teams to support scale-up and implementation of new processes.
- Research and evaluate new technologies and methodologies to enhance process capabilities and sustainability.
- Develop and deliver technical training materials to operations personnel.
- Ensure all engineering activities comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of operational excellence initiatives.
- Manage and mentor junior engineers in process design and troubleshooting techniques.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in chemical process design, development, and optimization.
- Strong proficiency in process simulation software (Aspen Plus, HYSYS) and statistical analysis tools.
- In-depth knowledge of chemical engineering principles, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat/mass transfer.
- Experience with Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) methodologies like HAZOP.
- Excellent remote troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple projects effectively in a remote setting.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly.
- Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma principles is a plus.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly desirable.
