CT/Radiology Technologist

Pittsburgh, PA full-time ✦ New

Job Description

AHN Neighborhood Hospital is seeking a skilled and compassionate CT/Radiology Technologist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will perform a blend of CT and general diagnostic radiologic imaging to support a community-centered hospital that prioritizes timely, patient-focused care close to home. You will work directly with patients, physicians, nurses, and other clinical staff to deliver high-quality diagnostic images that support accurate and efficient diagnosis and treatment.

As a CT/Radiology Technologist, you will be responsible for preparing and positioning patients for CT and radiographic examinations, following established protocols and applying sound knowledge of anatomy, cross-sectional imaging, and pathology. You will operate CT scanners and radiographic equipment safely and effectively, adjusting technical factors to optimize image quality while adhering to ALARA principles and all radiation safety guidelines. You will verify patient identity, obtain relevant history, explain procedures clearly, and provide reassurance and compassionate care to patients and families in a variety of clinical situations, including emergency and urgent care settings.

You will perform CT exams with and without contrast, following contrast administration protocols and monitoring patients for safety and comfort, in collaboration with nursing staff and providers. You will accurately document procedures, doses, and patient information in the electronic medical record and radiology information systems, and ensure images are properly processed, labeled, and transmitted through PACS for interpretation. The role includes routine quality checks on equipment, reporting malfunctions promptly, and assisting with quality assurance and accreditation-related activities to maintain high standards of imaging services.

Working at AHN Neighborhood Hospital means being part of a collaborative, inclusive team that values compassion, communication, and continuous improvement. You will contribute to a positive, patient-centered environment by maintaining professional, respectful interactions with patients, families, and colleagues, and by participating in interdisciplinary care discussions when appropriate. You will help support efficient patient flow by prioritizing exams based on clinical urgency, responding quickly to add-on or stat imaging requests, and assisting providers and nursing staff with imaging-related questions.

The ideal candidate brings strong technical skills in CT and radiography, a thorough understanding of radiation safety, and the ability to work confidently in a fast-paced hospital environment. You should be comfortable caring for patients across the lifespan, including those who are acutely ill, in pain, anxious, or have limited mobility. Attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to accuracy and infection control are essential. You will also be expected to maintain required certifications, participate in ongoing education, and stay current with advances in imaging technology and best practices.

AHN Neighborhood Hospital offers the opportunity to grow your career within a supportive and innovative healthcare setting. As a CT/Radiology Technologist here, you will be part of a mission-driven organization that emphasizes community impact, teamwork, and high-quality, accessible care. You will have the chance to broaden your skills across multiple imaging modalities, contribute to process improvements, and support the development of best practices that enhance patient safety and outcomes. This is an on-site, patient-facing role that requires flexibility to work a mix of days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed to meet the needs of our patients and community.
