You will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting complex operational data, identifying trends, and developing actionable insights to improve production, reduce costs, and enhance resource management. You will collaborate with mine managers, geologists, engineers, and other stakeholders to drive data-informed decision-making and implement strategic operational improvements. - Identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement in production, efficiency, and cost reduction.
- Conduct statistical analysis to model operational performance and forecast future outcomes.
- Collaborate with site management and technical teams to understand operational challenges and gather data.
- Provide data-driven recommendations to improve mining processes, equipment utilization, and resource allocation.
- Develop and refine data collection methodologies to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Assist in the development and implementation of operational improvement initiatives.
- Stay current with advancements in mining technology and data analytics tools relevant to the industry.
- Prepare and present analytical findings and strategic recommendations to senior management.
- Mentor junior analysts and contribute to the development of a data-centric culture within the organization.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and reporting requirements.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mining Engineering, Operations Research, Statistics, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in data analysis and operations improvement, with a significant focus on the mining or heavy industry sector.
- Proficiency in data analysis software such as Python (Pandas, NumPy), R, or SQL.
- Experience with business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) for data visualization and reporting.
- Strong understanding of mining operations, processes, and key performance drivers.
- Excellent statistical modeling and analytical skills.
- Ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable business insights.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical information effectively to non-technical audiences.
- Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a remote setting.
- Experience with mine planning or simulation software is a plus.
