UPMC Jameson | 2200 Acute Care Unit
UPMC Jameson is seeking a FullTime Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join the 2200 Acute Care Unit. This is a 24bed MedicalSurgical unit specializing in Neurology and Pulmonary care, offering an excellent opportunity to grow clinical skills in a supportive team environment.
Schedule:
This position follows a rotating schedule, with 50% offshifts, and includes every other weekend and every other holiday.
The LPN provides patientcentered nursing care under the direction of a Registered Nurse or licensed provider, in accordance with UPMC policies, LPN Practice Guidelines, and State Board regulations. Responsibilities include focused patient assessments, IV therapy within scope, care planning, documentation, and patient and family education. The LPN collaborates with the interdisciplinary team, communicates changes in patient condition, and practices at the top of their license in a Med/Surg or Telemetry environment.
+ Support quality, safety, and patient experience initiatives
+ Participate in unit activities and professional development
+ Assist with orienting and supporting peers
+ Complete required annual contributions or maintain an approved certification
+ Graduate of a State Board-approved Practical Nursing Program
+ Active LPN license (state or multistate/NLC as applicable)
+ Minimum 2 years of LPN experience
+ IV Therapy Certification:
+ Required within 4 months of hire/transfer
+ Included for PA graduates 2012-present
+ Graduates prior to 2012 must provide proof of approved IV training
+ BLS or CPR certification requiredMust practice at the top of LPN license in Med/Surg,
+ Telemetry, or ED
+ Complete 2 annual patientcare contributions or maintain a UPMCapproved certification plus 1 contribution
