**Solid Waste Inspector**
**7AM-3:30PM - MONDAY-FRIDAY**
**$18.63**
Help keep our city clean, safe, and running smoothly. We're looking for a hands-on, self-motivated professional who enjoys working outdoors, engaging with the public, and making a real impact in the community.
**What you'll do:**
+ Inspect residential and commercial waste, recycling, and yard waste to ensure compliance with city guidelines
+ Educate customers on services, schedules, and proper waste practices
+ Investigate service issues, complaints, and container setups
+ Conduct route audits and issue warnings or citations when needed
+ Work closely with haulers and respond to service requests
+ Keep accurate daily records and reports using basic computer systems
**What we're looking for:**
+ 4+ years of experience in a public-facing role
+ Strong communication skills-you can explain rules clearly and handle tough conversations calmly
+ Self-starter who works well independently and stays organized in the field
+ Comfortable using basic computer systems and mobile tools
+ Able to read maps, navigate routes, and drive a pickup truck
+ Reliable, punctual, and accountable
**Physical requirements:**
Active, field-based work including walking, lifting (up to 50 lbs occasionally), and working outdoors in various conditions
**Requirements:**
+ High school diploma or GED
+ Valid driver's license
