Overview
Responsible for the movement of products and materials throughout the warehouse and store including the shipping and receiving of incoming and outgoing merchandise and materials.
Responsibilities
- Involved in procurement and replenishment of product.
- Practice good merchandising including setup and traffic flow.
- Rotate stock
- Assist with physical inventory and cycle counts
- Understand and follow receiving policy and procedure
- Loads and unloads materials, tallies and checks order for shortages/overages or any other error on the shipment.
- Places and stores material in an appropriate area to ensure quick and easy access for pick-up.
- Breaks down direct orders for distribution to branch yards, according to transfer schedules.
- Ensures that invoices are matched to purchase orders and labeled accordingly.
- Ensures that special order merchandise is labeled for customers. To include customer name, PO number and date received.
- Effectively report receiving variances to the appropriate person
- Responsible for materials to be returned to vendors for appropriate reason.
- Pull and/or prepare products for delivery or shipment, ensuring accuracy.
- Loading of all customers with distribution merchandise.
- Paperwork must be completed in an accurate and timely manner to guarantee inventory control.
- Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas in order to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Warehouse is to be kept orderly, neat, and clean at all times.
- Review and receive purchase orders of all material stock and special orders unloaded by receivers (Yard-UPS-FedEx-Transfers-Orgill).
- Handle outgoing UPS and FedEx shipments.
- Credits customer returns and return to vendors.
- Receive and transfer special orders that vendors will only deliver to one store.
- Process transfers (Incoming Door Shop Request) to and from other locations
- Process Pos, Special Orders, make SO tags and put in file for receivers.
- File receiving paperwork daily, move files first of every month to main office.
- Exercise principles of material handling and equipment usage to protect company assets
- Safe and proper use of equipment
- Other duties may be assigned
Qualifications
- Ability to lift 80 lbs.
- Experience on a propane Forklift, must be at least 18 years old
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written or oral form. Ability to use sound judgment and problem-solving skills to analyze customer needs and to recommend the proper course of action
