Information Security Analyst (Remote First)

Job Description

Our client, a leading cybersecurity firm committed to protecting businesses from evolving digital threats, is seeking a highly skilled Information Security Analyst. This role is designed as a remote-first position, meaning all core activities and collaborations will occur virtually. You will be instrumental in safeguarding our client's digital assets and ensuring compliance with industry standards. Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor security alerts and events to detect and respond to potential threats.
  • Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify weaknesses in systems and networks.
  • Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Conduct security awareness training for employees.
  • Investigate security incidents, perform root cause analysis, and recommend remediation steps.
  • Manage and maintain security tools and technologies, such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, and SIEM systems.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations and standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, ISO 27001).
  • Assist in the development and execution of disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to integrate security into the system development lifecycle.
  • Stay current with the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in information security analysis or a similar role.
  • Proficiency in security monitoring tools, SIEM platforms, and vulnerability assessment tools.
  • Strong understanding of network security, cryptography, and risk management principles.
  • Knowledge of common attack vectors and mitigation techniques.
  • Experience with security frameworks and compliance standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document findings and recommendations clearly.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, or CISSP are highly desirable.
