Our client, a pioneering organization in the sports technology and analytics sector, is seeking an experienced Director of Sports Analytics to lead their fully remote team. This role is pivotal in leveraging data-driven insights to enhance athletic performance, strategic decision-making, and fan engagement. You will be responsible for developing and implementing advanced analytical frameworks, managing a team of talented analysts, and collaborating with various sports stakeholders to translate complex data into actionable strategies.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development and execution of comprehensive sports analytics strategies to support performance, scouting, training, and fan engagement initiatives.
  • Oversee the collection, cleaning, and analysis of large datasets from various sports-related sources (e.g., player tracking data, game statistics, biometric data).
  • Develop and implement advanced statistical models, machine learning algorithms, and predictive analytics to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Manage and mentor a team of sports analysts, providing technical guidance and fostering professional growth.
  • Collaborate closely with coaches, performance staff, management, and other stakeholders to understand their analytical needs and deliver impactful insights.
  • Present complex analytical findings and recommendations in a clear, concise, and compelling manner to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Stay current with the latest advancements in sports analytics, data science, and relevant technologies.
  • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of data and analytical outputs.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting tools to visualize key metrics and performance indicators.

Qualifications:
  • Master's or Ph.D. in Statistics, Data Science, Sports Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in data analytics, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within the sports industry.
  • Proven expertise in statistical modeling, machine learning techniques, and data visualization tools (e.g., Python/R, SQL, Tableau, Power BI).
  • Deep understanding of sports performance metrics and biomechanics.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fully remote, fast-paced, and collaborative environment.
