Job Description
Our client, a cutting-edge technology company at the forefront of developing advanced electronic systems, is seeking a highly accomplished Senior FPGA Design Engineer to join their completely remote engineering team. This role is instrumental in the design, development, verification, and implementation of complex Field-Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) solutions for high-performance applications. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of digital design principles, VHDL/Verilog, timing closure, and high-level synthesis. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware and software engineers, to integrate FPGA designs into larger system architectures. This is an exceptional opportunity to work on challenging projects and contribute to the innovation of next-generation products from the comfort of your own home.
Key Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement digital logic using VHDL or Verilog for complex FPGA architectures.
- Perform detailed timing analysis and closure on FPGA designs to meet stringent performance requirements.
- Develop and execute comprehensive verification plans and methodologies (e.g., testbenches, simulations) to ensure design correctness.
- Utilize High-Level Synthesis (HLS) tools and methodologies to optimize designs for performance and resource utilization.
- Collaborate closely with hardware and software engineering teams to integrate FPGA designs into complete system solutions.
- Participate in the entire FPGA design lifecycle, from requirements definition to production release.
- Debug and troubleshoot hardware and software issues related to FPGA implementations.
- Evaluate and select appropriate FPGA devices and development tools.
- Stay current with the latest advancements in FPGA technology, tools, and design methodologies.
- Contribute to the definition of system architecture and high-level design specifications.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on FPGA design best practices.
- Document design specifications, verification procedures, and test results thoroughly.
- Master's or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in FPGA design and development.
- Expertise in VHDL and/or Verilog for FPGA implementation.
- Proficiency with FPGA synthesis, place-and-route, and timing analysis tools (e.g., Vivado, Quartus).
- Strong understanding of digital signal processing (DSP) concepts and algorithms.
- Experience with High-Level Synthesis (HLS) tools and techniques.
- Familiarity with embedded systems and embedded software development is a plus.
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Perl, Tcl) for automation.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities, with experience working in distributed teams.
- Proven ability to manage complex design projects and meet deadlines.
