Were looking for an enthusiastic food prep worker who can deliver outstanding results in the kitchen, prepping meals for our chef/cook. Your main responsibilities will be to stock, prepare, and measure condiments and slice and dice foods. Youll keep your workstation and equipment clean and follow all required safety protocols. Good organization skills, the ability to take directions well, and to read recipe instructions and labels in English, as well as handle a variety of kitchen equipment, sharp knives, and measuring tools, are required.
Some experience and an associate's degree are preferred but not required. If you are a positive self-starter who can work with minimal supervision, we want to meet you! Apply today for immediate consideration.
Responsibilities:
- Read recipe measurements, meal charts, label instructions in English, and use the correct measuring tools
- Use the correct amounts of condiments, wash all fruits and vegetables to be peeled, diced, and sliced, slice meats, and mix a variety of sauces
- Keep all prep and workstation areas organized and equipment hygienic and sanitized at closing
- Perform other basic cooking duties as necessary, such as brewing coffee or tea, preparing soups, reducing sauces, and assisting other cooks in the kitchen if needed
- Adhere to COVID-19 safety protocol measures in all food preparation areas and follow all food safety guidelines in the kitchen workstations
Qualifications:
- Understanding of how to read recipes, meal charts, measuring tools, and labels in English
- Should be able to stand on your feet for long periods of time and also bend, pull, and lift 35-50 pounds
- You should possess the basic knowledge of food preparation and perform these duties with minimal supervision from the head cook or chef
- Basic familiarity with operating kitchen equipment
- Wed like you to have some kitchen experience and associates degree (AA) or equivalent, but its not necessary
