Role Overview
The Senior Database Engineer is a handson technical leader responsible for the reliability, performance, resilience, and continuous improvement of the ERP database platform. The role owns administration and engineering across Oracle databases in Oracle OCI, Oracle EBusiness Suite onpremises, and Oracle Fusion applications in Oracle SaaS.
Key focus includes reducing operational toil through automation, strengthening platform observability and support readiness, and providing leadership that improves service quality, security and scalability across the ERP ecosystem.
Responsibilities- Lead administration, engineering, and lifecycle management of Oracle database platforms supporting ERP workloads across OCI, onpremises EBusiness Suite, and Oracle Cloud SaaS.
- Provide endtoend operational support for onpremise Oracle EBS, boundary applications, and ERPowned Oracle Cloud SaaS applications.
- Own platform availability, performance, resiliency, and disaster recovery design, including proactive monitoring, tuning, optimization, and incident response.
- Drive automation and AIassisted improvements that reduce support toil, improve operational consistency and accelerate issue resolution.
- Define and maintain technical standards, support documentation, and operational practices that improve support readiness and maintainability.
- Partner with project, development teams and vendors to design and implement scalable solutions that align with business and platform requirements.
- Provide technical leadership across supporting capabilities such as security, configuration management, observability, and orchestration (GitHub, Kubernetes, Ansible, Puppet, Splunk, Grafana).
- Establish and track key performance indicators to improve platform health, service quality and stakeholder experience.
- Mentor junior resources, influence technical direction, and promote best practices.
- Participate in oncall support as required.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 5+ years of Oracle database administration experience in enterprise environments.
- Experience with Oracle highavailability and disaster recovery technologies, including RAC and Data Guard.
- Experience designing, recommending and implementing enterprise database solutions.
- Strong knowledge of database administration principles, performance tuning, monitoring and operational support practices.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or related discipline.
- Experience supporting Oracle EBusiness Suite (R12.2+) environments.
- Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure administration.
- Experience with Oracle 23ai RAC or later core database platforms.
- Proficiency with RedHat Enterprise Linux.
- Knowledge of scripting and infrastructure automation tools such as Python, Bash, Terraform, or Perl.
- Familiarity with Agile delivery practices and service management platforms such as ServiceNow.
- Strong analytical, problemsolving, written and verbal communication skills.
The estimated base pay range is $108,400 to $150,000 annually, based on factors such as location, experience, skill set and business needs. Variable incentive compensation may be eligible.
