Engineering Manager - Systems UAV & Drone Technology

Location: Washington | Salary: $180K - $210K DOE

$180,000.00/yr - $210,000.00/yr

Role summary

They are seeking a Systems Engineering Manager to lead a high-performing team of engineers responsible for designing, building, testing, and delivering next-generation drone systems. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will guide the technical direction, ensure program success, and mentor engineers across multiple disciplines.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a systems engineering team
  • Oversee projects from concept through delivery, ensuring technical excellence and program alignment
  • Collaborate closely with hardware, software, and program management teams
  • Support proposal development, technical reviews, and new business opportunities
  • Drive process improvements, operational efficiency, and innovation
  • Manage team performance, career development, workload, and resource planning
  • Ensure compliance with security standards, regulations, and company policies
Qualifications
  • 8+ years managing technical personnel
  • 4+ years project management and systems engineering experience
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Experience with complex technical programs is a plus
