We create Best in Class products by leveraging advanced analysis tools, extensive testing regimes, state-of-the-art manufacturing processes and cross-functional agility.The Reliability Engineers primary duties are to utilize engineering skills to contribute to the development and qualification of power tool products. The Reliability Engineer will define the test methods and product requirements needed to develop durable, disruptive, and market-leading products.A successful candidate will bring curiosity, accountability, and strong experience in requirements definition, test development, validation, and data acquisition to the New Product Development team. The Candidate enjoys a fast-paced work environment with excellent visibility and opportunities to grow.Duties and ResponsibilitiesProduct DevelopmentBe a subject matter expert in the New Product Development team with respect to test methods, product requirements, user needs, and reliabilityDevelop Critical to Quality (CTQ) requirements from collaboration with Product Management and participation in User Needs researchCollaborate with Engineering and Marketing to define product specifications with respect to all aspects of reliability, quality, and user needsDesign experimental techniques to improve development and testing effortsCollaborate with global teams to ensure robust manufacturing and supplier quality and test lab correlationTrack multiple projects simultaneously to ensure adherence to quality, schedule, and the Milwaukee Tool processTesting and AnalysisDevelop new test procedures and create test plans to evaluate product performance against user and product requirementsEffectively document test plans, procedures, and best practices for execution in test laboratoriesPerform data analysis, post-processing, and visualization of test dataSummarize test results with statistical techniques and present concise, logical, written conclusionsEnsure timely failure reporting and drive root cause analysis and effective corrective/preventative actionsJob RequirementsBachelors Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field, preferably with 0-2 years of experience in similar product development, reliability, test, or quality rolesExperience with or desire to learn:Analytical problem-solving skills and statistical application in areas such as Design of Experiments, sampling techniques, regression, reliability, FMEAs, hypothesis testingHands-on experience with data acquisition systems, data analysis, and related software (e.g. Python, nCode Glyphworks, Dewesoft, LabVIEW)Experience with life data analysis, reliability distributions, statistical analysis, and related software (e.g. Minitab, Reliasoft Weibull+)Experience in manufacturing quality and root cause analysis (RCA, FRACAS)Strong communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels with creative problem-solving capabilitiesAbility to travel 10% (includes both domestic and international)Milwaukee Tool is an equal opportunity employer.
