Job Description

Quest Integrity, a global leader in inspection and engineering services, is seeking a Field Engineer that will manage inspection tool needs, task lists and related projects, including ILI tool diagnostic initiatives when challenges are encountered and implementation of all lessons learned from these challenges.

The Field Engineer will serve as primary liaison with the Research and Development team, to determine best practices during new product deployment while continually ensuring field procedures and tool specifications are designed to optimize tool performance and effectiveness in the field; includes developing standard tool configurations and performance capabilities for newly developed tools..

This position may also assume the role of Project Manager or Lead Technician during new product deployment, and/or critical customer inspections and will require travel to industrial sites to deploy Quest Integrity's custom inspection technologies.

Position based in Kent, Washington.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Review project information and help determine project requirements

Assist with testing; software/analysis, field operations, and new tool deployment

Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and/or software issues during tool development

Provide technical support to the sales team and assist in pre-sale site surveys

Provide equipment functionality and capability reports

Complete Operations Review forms – fill in gaps/make recommendations

Evaluate tool compatibility with various chemicals

Test, monitor and track tool function; run flow loop tests; document changes and results

Document tool revisions - Configurations & enhancements

Create/maintain tool specification documents

Test tool configurations and planned inspection mediums

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

BS in Engineering preferred, technical degree minimum

5+ years’ experience in automated inspection and/or nondestructive inspection environment required; In-Line Inspection (pipelines and piping systems) experience preferred

Proven knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures and equipment to the design, testing, and production of NDT and quality control instrumentation and systems

Strong mechanical aptitude

Experience with CAD and 3D CAD systems such as Autocad or SolidWorks and/or familiarity with machining tools a plus

Prior project management or lead engineer experience preferred; product development experience a plus

Excellent communication skills are required

Must show high initiative, be self-motivated and have ability to act independently to resolve issues on technical matters
