Job Description

Ascension is seeking a Multimodality Technologist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will perform diagnostic imaging procedures across multiple modalities, ensuring high-quality results and patient safety. You’ll collaborate with physicians and clinical staff to coordinate exams, explain procedures, and provide compassionate, patient-centered care. Perform high-quality diagnostic imaging exams in general radiography and at least one additional modality (e.g., CT, MRI, Mammography, or Ultrasound).
Verify physician orders, review patient history, and confirm appropriate imaging protocols for each exam.
Prepare, position, and instruct patients for imaging procedures, ensuring safety, privacy, and comfort.
Operate, monitor, and perform basic troubleshooting on multimodality imaging equipment and related systems.
Adhere to radiation safety principles, contrast administration guidelines, and infection control standards.
Monitor patients during and after procedures, recognizing and escalating changes in condition when necessary.
Accurately document procedures and patient information in the electronic health record and PACS.
Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and other care team members to coordinate exams and support timely diagnoses.
Provide clear explanations and emotional support to patients and families regarding imaging procedures.
Participate in call, weekend, and holiday rotations as assigned and support imaging services across various care areas.
Engage in ongoing education, cross-training, and competency assessments to maintain and expand multimodality skills.

Diagnostic radiography
Multimodality imaging (e.g., CT, MRI, Mammography, or Ultrasound)
Patient positioning and immobilization
Radiation safety and dose optimization
Operation of imaging equipment and PACS
Contrast media administration and monitoring
Infection control and standard precautions
Electronic health record documentation
Basic life support skills
Anatomy and physiology knowledge
Cross-sectional anatomy (for CT/MRI)
Critical thinking and problem solving
Time management in high-volume settings
