Frontend Lead Developer

We are seeking a senior front-end developer or hands-on development manager to help lead a junior engineering team of 5+ developers as we make the transition to a single-page application via Angular. The title would initially be a technical lead, but the role requires someone who is capable of assuming a manager position after a 2-3 month period. We're looking for someone with deep JS experience as well as a strong CSC background who can help the team develop more structure around the HTML/CSS/JS code. This person will also have ownership for custom Sales development, video display and distribution and our mobile web user experience. Any PHP experience would be quite helpful as well since we currently run an nginx/PHP/mySQL stack on AWS, S3 and Akamai. The expectation is that this person would focus on front-end development, but all of our leads are competent full-stack developers and ops savvy. Furthermore everyone is empowered to explore and implement new ideas and improvements.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a dynamic engineering team of 5+ developers

Design and implement features that wow and excite our users
Help Architect and improve our CSS/HTML/JS framework
Learn about new technologies and share your findings with the team
Take ownership of custom sales solutions, mobile user experience and video playback

Requirement:

• 5+ years of experience developing complex web applications with pure

JavaScript or a JavaScript framework
Deep understand of mobile web technologies and user interface
Some operations and full stack (SQL) experience
Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience with Angular or another single page JS framework
Mentor other developers to grow and be successful
Can create simple and clean solutions to complex problems
CSC Degree or equivalent

• Experience with PHP frameworks

MySQL database
AWS operations and deployment
