Job Description
Primary Function
This position serves as a student assistant in an on-campus department, providing support to Wor-Wic Community College faculty and staff, with some off-campus community opportunities as designated.
Essential Duties
The following list is not intended as, nor should it be construed as, exhaustive of all responsibilities, skills or working conditions associated with this position. Job duties may vary with position. Duties may include:
- Wor-Wic office and computer lab positions:
- administrative assistant duties such as answering telephones, filing, copying, scanning, data entry
- preparing materials for mass mailings
- assisting with special events such as new student orientation, job fairs and group tours
- greeting visitors to the department
- Wor-Wic facilities positions:
- mail delivery, filing, distributing mail to various locations across campus
- driving to the post office
- Wor-Wic America Reads program:
- tutoring children in elementary school settings to improve their reading skills, either one-on-one or in a group setting
- Child Development Center positions:
- assisting teachers with activities for the children
- monitoring playtime, lunch and nap time as directed
Minimum Requirements
Requirements for Federal Work Study Eligibility
- Must be a U.S. citizen or an eligible non-citizen
- Must be enrolled in an associate degree or certificate of proficiency program at Wor-Wic Community College
- Must be enrolled for a minimum of six credit hours per semester at Wor-Wic Community College
- Must make satisfactory academic progress (minimum cumulative unweighted grade point average of 2.0 is required)
- Must not be in default on a previous student loan or owe any overpayments on a grant or loan
- Must be Pell Grant eligible and have financial need
- Must be a U.S. citizen or an eligible non-citizen
- Must be enrolled in an associate degree or certificate of proficiency program at Wor-Wic Community College
- Must be enrolled for a minimum of six credit hours per semester at Wor-Wic Community College
