Job Description

Mercy, a leading healthcare organization, is seeking a Supervisor in our Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this role, you will oversee daily clinical operations, support staff performance, and ensure high standards of patient care and safety. Responsibilities include coordinating schedules, monitoring workflow, mentoring team members, and promoting compliance with policies and regulations. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary professionals to drive quality improvement and patient satisfaction. Supervise daily operations and clinical workflows within the assigned care unit or department to ensure safe, timely, and efficient patient care.
Oversee and support a multidisciplinary team of clinical and non-clinical staff, including scheduling, delegation of tasks, and real-time problem solving.
Monitor quality, safety, and patient experience metrics, implementing process improvements aligned with Mercy’s standards and regulatory requirements.
Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, organizational policies, and documentation standards, including accurate and timely charting in EHR systems.
Provide coaching, feedback, and performance evaluations to team members, supporting professional development and fostering a culture of accountability and compassion.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists, and administrative partners to coordinate patient flow, manage bed or appointment capacity, and minimize delays in care.
Respond to patient, family, and staff concerns, facilitating service recovery and escalating issues appropriately to leadership when necessary.
Assist with budgeting, staffing projections, and allocation of resources to meet departmental productivity and quality goals.
Lead and participate in departmental meetings, training, and change initiatives, ensuring clear communication and engagement among team members.
Support onboarding and training of new staff to ensure consistent adoption of Mercy clinical and service standards.

BLS (Basic Life Support) certification; ACLS or other advanced certifications may be preferred depending on department
Preferred certification in healthcare management or leadership (e.g., Certified Nurse Manager and Leader - CNML, Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality - CPHQ, or similar)
Experience with Electronic Health Records (e.g., Epic or similar systems)
Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare regulations, patient safety standards, and quality improvement methodologies
