OT Network Engineer

Drax is seeking an OT Network Engineer to design, secure, and support operational technology networks across our energy and utilities operations. In this IT & Cybersecurity role, you will integrate OT assets, SCADA, and control systems with enterprise networks, enhancing resilience and cybersecurity for critical infrastructure. You’ll collaborate with engineering and security teams to deliver sustainable, data‑driven solutions that enable a zero‑carbon future. Design, implement, and maintain secure OT networks for power generation assets
Integrate IT and OT systems while maintaining reliability and cybersecurity
Monitor and troubleshoot OT network performance and availability
Harden and segment networks in line with industry and critical infrastructure standards
Collaborate with IT and Cybersecurity teams on architecture, policies, and incident response
Support sustainable and innovative engineering projects across Drax sites
Document network designs, configurations, and support procedures
OT networking (SCADA, DCS, PLCs)
Industrial network protocols (Modbus, DNP3, IEC 61850)
Network design and segmentation
Firewalls and VPNs
Intrusion detection/monitoring (IDS/IPS)
Cisco routing and switching
IT/OT convergence and security
Windows and Linux networking fundamentals
NERC CIP / critical infrastructure standards awareness
Network troubleshooting and diagnostics
