Title: Project Engineer
Comp: $108,000 – $140,000
Location: Louisville, KY (Onsite)
Our client is seeking immediate assistance in identifying a candidate for a Project Engineer direct hire position in Louisville, KY.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate all engineering disciplines (structural, piping, design, etc.) across projects
- Ensure engineering deliverables meet scope, schedule, and specifications
- Act as liaison between internal engineering teams and customer engineering teams
- Drive drawing reviews, approvals, and technical alignment
- Ensure proper integration of equipment within customer plant systems
- Partner with Project Managers to support execution timelines and milestones
- Coordinate with Quality Engineers to support compliance and standards
- Support execution of large capital equipment projects
- Manage engineering changes, scope adjustments, and technical impacts
- Collaborate with suppliers/vendors for technical and contract alignment
Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Metallurgical Engineering, or related field
- 5–10 years of relevant industry experience
- Experience in power generation, HRSG systems, boilers, or heavy industrial equipment
- Background in contract-based project execution environments
- Ability to manage engineering schedules, budgets, and KPIs
- Experience working directly with customers in a technical capacity
- Proven ability to coordinate cross-functional engineering teams
- Experience with change management, change orders, and scope adjustments
- Vendor/supplier coordination experience (technical + commercial aspects)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to travel and valid passport required
Preferred Skills:
- Direct HRSG or boiler system experience
- Familiarity with ASME codes (B31.1, NBIC, Section VIII)
- Experience with pressure vessels or heat exchangers
- Background in EPC or OEM capital equipment environments
- Experience in oil & gas, nuclear, or large industrial manufacturing
- Exposure to document control systems (DCAP or similar)
- Prior Project Engineering or Project Coordination experience
- Experience working with globally outsourced manufacturing models
