Founding Full Stack Engineer

Location: Remote (US-based, NYC preferred)
Company Stage of Funding: Pre-Series A

Salary: $180,000 – $220,000 + 0.2%–0.5% Equity

Company Description

Our client is building mission-critical AI infrastructure for trial attorneys, enabling legal teams to leverage highly reliable AI systems for litigation workflows where correctness is absolutely non-negotiable.

Their platform powers legal intelligence workflows across document extraction, legal research, agent orchestration, and courtroom-grade AI reliability systems.

This is a rare opportunity to join as one of the earliest engineers at a fast-growing legal AI startup, working directly with founders and shaping the technical foundation of a product operating in one of the highest-stakes AI domains.

What You Will Do

Build and ship features across the full stack

Work across React, Next.js, TypeScript, Python, SQL, and AI systems

Own product development end-to-end

Build and maintain agent orchestration systems

Develop sub-agent workflows and tool-use patterns

Build reliable RAG pipelines

Design anti-hallucination safeguards for legal AI outputs

Own third-party integrations from scoping to deployment

Contribute to backend performance optimization

Work directly with founders on product direction

Improve reliability and system scalability

Move quickly across frontend, backend, and AI infrastructure

Build polished product experiences for legal users

Ship rapidly in a high-intensity startup environment

Ideal Candidate Background

3–8 years of full-stack engineering experience

Strong production software shipping experience

Strong JavaScript / TypeScript / Python / SQL proficiency

Experience building full-stack production systems

Startup engineering experience

Ability to work autonomously

Strong systems thinking

Experience working across frontend and backend

Comfort in highly ambiguous environments

Strong ownership mindset

Ability to context-switch rapidly
