CA EH&S Specialist
Job Description
To lead the location in ensuring an environmentally sound, healthy, and safe workplace for every Associate.
Ensure continued compliance with environmental and safety laws and regulations.
Verify that the location’s environmental standards conform to the requirements of ISO 14001 and HEXPOL’s Management System.
Lead Environmental, Health and Safety program initiatives to promote and enhance a safe workplace.
Communicate with regulatory agencies.
Conduct routine location inspections to determine the existence of hazards and take measures to correct.
Provide Associate training (including new hire safety orientation and monthly Environmental, Health and Safety related topics).
Plan, organize, and moderate the location’s safety committee meetings.
Investigate all incidents for root cause. Work with staff to implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Travel may be required, up to 25% of the time.
Perform any other project/task as assigned by Management.
High School Diploma or equivalent, required. Bachelor's Degree in Environmental, Health and Safety, Emergency Management, or related degree, desired. Experience may be considered in lieu of education.
Five (5) years of environmental, health and safety experience for an industrial company.
Two (2) years of working with EPA regulations.
Working knowledge of EPA, DOT, and OSHA Regulations.
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Strong computer/systems skills – MS Office (Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Outlook).
Solid organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks, meet tight deadlines, and manage a broad range of responsibilities.
High degree of concentration, attention to detail, high energy, self-motivated and self-reliant.
Ability to interact well with all personality types.
Strong cooperation, collaboration, and team-building skills.
Effective analytical and problem-solving skills with an emphasis on continuous improvement.
