Substation Engineer

Job Description Description: The Staff Substation Engineer will work under the supervision of a licensed professional engineer to develop design deliverables for new and modified high-voltage (13kV to 765kV) electrical power substation projects. The Staff Substation Engineer will work with the project team through the design and construction process, adapting engineering plans according to budget constraints, design factors, or client needs. Responsibilities: - Heavily involved in day to day physical substation design - Supports projects from concept through construction - Prepares: o Physical substation layouts (above/below grade) o Calculations (grounding, DC systems, cable sizing, etc.) o Design packages and specs - Acts as technical project engineer o Technical POC for clients o Supports PMs (PMs are more financial/client facing) o Reviews work of junior engineers - Participates in: o Internal design meetings o Coordination with Senior Engineers and PM's o Client interactions We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day. Skills and Requirements Requirements: - 3-7 years substation experience = Staff - High voltage experience required (must be 20kV+) - Physical substation design experience is the biggest gap - FE exam required - Must have plan to obtain EIT within 6-12 months - MicroStation required o AutoCAD is a plus - Bachelors in EE or related (ABET accredited)
