**Job Title: Machine Operator and Assembler** **Job Description** This role involves operating cutting machinery and performing assembly tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will receive and process production work orders, handle and prepare materials such as fabric rolls and sheet metal, perform precise cutting operations, and support general production and assembly activities while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. **Responsibilities** + Receive, review, and prioritize production work orders, confirming that all specifications, materials, and quantities are accurate before processing. + Identify, stage, and verify the correct materials, including fabric rolls, sheet metal, and components, based on job requirements. + Safely move and handle large fabric rolls up to approximately 130 pounds using proper lifting techniques or material handling equipment. + Perform metal cutting operations, lifting materials up to approximately 50 pounds and cutting parts according to detailed specifications. + Set up, adjust, and operate fabric and metal cutting equipment, ensuring correct settings for thickness, material type, and dimensions. + Accurately measure, mark, and cut materials to meet production specifications while minimizing waste and maintaining consistent quality. + Monitor cutting processes, inspect finished materials, and verify quality, identifying defects and ensuring adherence to specifications. + Close out completed work orders by updating production tracking systems and ensuring all documentation is accurate and complete. + Maintain a clean, organized work area and consistently follow all safety protocols and required personal protective equipment procedures. + Assist with routine machine maintenance, including basic troubleshooting and performing blade or tool changes as needed. + Operate multiple machines or workstations as needed to support production demands and improve workflow efficiency. + Use measuring tools, hand tools, and power tools to complete cutting, assembly, and installation tasks accurately. + Load and unload materials and ensure that the correct materials are collected and staged for each job. + Support general production, warehouse inventory activities, and assembly line operations as required. + Interpret blueprints, work orders, and cutting patterns to ensure proper dimensions, orientation, and material selection. + Utilize machinery to cut materials to length, verifying measurements and making adjustments to achieve precise cuts. + Perform mechanical and general assembly tasks, ensuring components are installed correctly and securely. + Apply quality control and quality assurance practices to verify that products meet specifications before moving to the next stage of production. + Communicate effectively with production, quality, and supervision teams to resolve issues and maintain smooth workflow. + Manage time effectively to meet production deadlines while maintaining safety and quality standards. **Essential Skills** + Ability to read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and cutting patterns accurately. + Experience operating or a strong willingness to learn cutting machinery such as fabric cutters, die cutters, CNC equipment, or similar machines. + Demonstrated attention to detail with a strong focus on precision cutting and quality control. + Solid understanding of material handling and production processes in a manufacturing environment. + Physical ability to lift up to approximately 50 pounds for metal cutting tasks. + Physical ability to move or assist with fabric rolls up to approximately 130 pounds using safe techniques. + Ability to stand, bend, and work on feet for extended periods in a production setting. + Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for handling tools and materials accurately. + Basic computer skills to upload work orders and track production progress. + Ability to troubleshoot minor issues and make adjustments during production runs. + Strong time management skills and the ability to meet production deadlines. + Team-oriented mindset with effective communication skills for working with production, quality, and supervision teams. + Proficiency in using measuring tools for accurate measurement and layout. + Experience with machine operation and general labor in a production or manufacturing environment. + Knowledge of quality control and quality assurance practices in a manufacturing setting. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience with machine operating in a manufacturing or warehouse environment. + Familiarity with hand tools and power tools used for cutting, assembly, and installation tasks. + Experience in installation and mechanical assembly work. + Experience in assembly line or general production operations. + Experience with warehouse inventory activities, including loading, unloading, and staging materials. + Comfort with heavy lifting and repetitive motion tasks. + Ability to utilize machinery to cut material to length while minimizing waste. + Experience measuring materials to You will work around cutting equipment, measuring tools, hand tools, and power tools, and collaborate closely with production and quality teams in a structured, safety-focused setting. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mint Hill, NC. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
