One of our valued clients, a well-established food manufacturing company in Northlake, IL, is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to support financial operations, reporting, and accounting processes. This is a key leadership-support role responsible for maintaining financial accuracy, supporting compliance, and helping drive strong fiscal performance.


Key Responsibilities
  • Review general ledger accounts and prepare adjusting journal entries

  • Perform account analysis and reconciliations including bank and intercompany accounts

  • Maintain chart of accounts and support internal control evaluations

  • Manage month-end close, accruals, and financial reporting

  • Prepare financial statements (balance sheet, P&L, cash flow)

  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and financial regulations

  • Support payroll processing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable

  • Monitor budgets, expenses, and financial performance metrics

  • Prepare tax filings and assist with audit preparation

  • Generate financial insights and recommendations for business improvement

  • Maintain confidentiality and integrity of financial data

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with leadership and administrative teams

What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

  • Minimum 3+ years of accounting and general ledger experience

  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards

  • CPA, EA, or CPA-eligible preferred (not required)

  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities

Schedule & Pay
  • Monday – Friday

  • Salary: Starting at $100,000 -$110,000 annually (negotiable based on experience)
