Job Description
Lockheed Martin seeks a Software Engineer to design, develop, and deploy secure, mission-critical software for defense and aerospace systems within our IT & AI organization. You will build high-reliability applications, data pipelines, and AI/ML capabilities that support advanced platforms across air, land, sea, and space. Collaborate with cross‑functional engineers to translate complex requirements into scalable, testable solutions. Design, implement, and test secure, mission-critical software for defense and aerospace systems
Develop AI/ML-enabled features and data pipelines to support advanced mission capabilities
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into scalable software architectures
Apply secure coding standards and perform code reviews to ensure reliability and compliance
Integrate software with cloud, on-prem, and embedded platforms as required by programs
Create and maintain technical documentation, test plans, and design artifacts
Participate in Agile ceremonies, backlog refinement, and continuous improvement initiatives
Support deployment, troubleshooting, and performance optimization in lab and field environments
Java or C++ development
Python programming
AI/ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch)
Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or similar)
Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
RESTful APIs and microservices
Secure software development (DoD, NIST, OWASP)
Data structures and algorithms
CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar)
Version control with Git
