Job Description
The H&K Group is seeking a General Operator to join our Skilled Labor team in the Mining & Quarrying industry. In this role, you will safely operate and maintain quarry and plant equipment, support production goals, and assist with routine inspections and housekeeping. You’ll work closely with supervisors and crew members to ensure efficient material handling and quality output. Operate quarry and mining equipment such as loaders, haul trucks, and related machinery to extract and move materials.
Monitor crushers, screens, and conveyors to maintain steady material flow and meet production targets.
Perform daily equipment inspections, basic maintenance, and cleaning to ensure safe and efficient operation.
Follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations, including proper use of PPE and participation in safety meetings.
Assist with equipment start-up, shut-down, and changeovers as directed by supervisors.
Communicate equipment issues, hazards, or production problems promptly to supervisors and maintenance personnel.
Maintain a clean, organized work area, removing debris and hazards from traffic and work zones.
Support other quarry and plant tasks as needed, including manual labor, basic repairs, and material handling.
Work effectively with teammates, supervisors, and maintenance staff to achieve production and quality objectives.
Heavy equipment operation (loaders, haul trucks, or similar)
Basic mechanical aptitude and equipment troubleshooting
Knowledge of quarry, mining, or heavy construction operations
Understanding of safety procedures and PPE requirements
Ability to read gauges, controls, and equipment indicators
Basic preventive maintenance skills (lubrication, inspections)
Material handling and production flow monitoring
Teamwork and communication in a field/industrial environment
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Physical stamina for outdoor, on-site work

Valid state driver’s license with clean driving record
Ability to pass required pre-employment drug and alcohol screening
