PLC Controls Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Commissioning & PLC Controls Engineer to support the commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, and validation of industrial automation and electrical control systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with PLC-based systems, motor drives, safety circuits, and equipment load testing in a manufacturing, material handling, or industrial environment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform PLC commissioning, startup, and system troubleshooting.
- Configure and parameterize SINAMICS VFDs, including encoder configuration and drive optimization.
- Execute load testing and no-load testing of equipment and control systems.
- Validate and test safety systems, including E-Stops, limit switches, overload protection, and complete control/power systems.
- Program and verify emergency brake systems integrated with PLC and MH Drive controls.
- Conduct logic verification and functional testing according to operational philosophy and system requirements.
- Troubleshoot electrical and automation issues during commissioning activities.
- Complete and verify all remaining electrical installation points based on site requirements.
- Document test results, commissioning activities, and system performance.
Qualifications:
- Experience with PLC programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
- Strong knowledge of SINAMICS VFDs, encoder setup, and drive systems.
- Hands-on experience with industrial safety systems and validation testing.
- Ability to perform load testing, functional testing, and system optimization.
- Knowledge of electrical control panels, power distribution, and industrial automation systems.
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently at customer or project sites during commissioning activities.
