Qualifications
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY
The IT Systems Operator is responsible for monitoring the company's main computer system and network. The IT Systems Operator provides basic trouble shooting on hardware, software, networking and computer systems issues.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES include:
- Providing first-level support for hardware, software and peripheral issues, including desktops, laptops, Point-of-Sale systems and printers.
- Answering phone calls, responding to emails, taking detailed notes and communicating with a high level of professionalism.
- Performing basic troubleshooting on hardware components, networks, operating systems and applications.
- Responding to service requests and incidents reported through the ticketing system.
- Documenting issues, resolutions and processes in the ticketing system.
- Running daily jobs and reports for administration departments and stores.
- Following established IT standards, security policies and support procedures.
NON ESSENTIAL DUTIES include:
- Distributing supplies to the stores.
- May be asked to write technical or training manuals as needed.
- May be asked to assist in the installation, modification or repair of computer hardware and software.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Have a basic knowledge of computer hardware and operating systems
- Have a good working knowledge of the Microsoft Windows operating system (preferred)
- Have a good working knowledge of the Google Suite of applications (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets) (preferred)
- Have a basic understanding or experience with computer networks (preferred)
- Have good interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Have excellent time management skills and a strong attention to detail
- Have a willingness to learn new technologies and systems
- Have the physical capability to sit, use a keyboard, mouse, scanner and computer monitor for prolonged periods of time
- Be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds when transporting, storing or retrieving various work supplies
- Be able to work effectively in a team environment and provide customer focused support
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience (preferred)
- 0-2 years of experience in technical support, help desk, or a related role (including internships or relevant training) (preferred)
