Pipeline Controller

Marathon Petroleum is seeking a Pipeline Controller to monitor and control pipeline operations in our Utilities Control Center. In this safety-critical role, you will operate SCADA and related systems to ensure safe, reliable movement of petroleum products across our network, respond rapidly to alarms and abnormal conditions, and coordinate with field, maintenance, and logistics teams. You’ll support compliance with regulatory and company standards while contributing to a performance-driven, safety-focused culture with strong training and advancement opportunities.
Monitor and control pipeline operations from the utilities control center using SCADA and related tools.
Ensure safe, reliable product flow while adhering to Marathon Petroleum safety and environmental standards.
Respond to alarms, abnormal operating conditions, and potential leaks following established procedures.
Coordinate with field operations, maintenance, and logistics to optimize system performance and minimize downtime.
Document operating events, prepare shift logs, and support incident investigations and compliance reporting.
Participate in training, drills, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance control room performance.
