**Overview** The Communications Intern will help advance and enhance Joint Commission's vision, initiatives, programs and reputation through internal and external communications support. Responsibilities include writing for a variety of channels and formats, communications planning assistance, and program implementation. The role also will help communicate and advance the organization's strategic plan to internal stakeholders. This paid internship is a full-time internship (40 hours per week), including two days per week in the office (Monday and Wednesday), located in Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois. **Responsibilities** **Key Responsibilities** + Support the development and execution of internal and external communications across Joint Commission enterprise, including drafting press materials, articles, and digital content + Assist with media relations activities, including building and maintaining targeted media lists, tracking journalist coverage areas, and supporting outreach efforts + Monitor and compile social and traditional media coverage, summarizing key insights, trends, and sentiment for the team + Draft and schedule content for social media channels, ensuring alignment with organizational messaging and priorities + Conduct research to support communications campaigns, announcements, and leadership messaging + Track and report on media coverage and social media performance metrics + Provide day-to-day support for communications initiatives, campaigns, and special projects as needed **Qualifications** **Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities** + Recent graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field required + Previous internship experience in the Communications and/or Public Relations industry preferred **Equal Opportunity Field** **We offer a comprehensive benefit package.
