Lead Server


Native Fields | Walnut, CA

Native Fields is a chef-driven, organic California restaurant inspired by the farmers market and rooted in genuine hospitality. We are seeking an experienced Lead Server who can help set the standard for service at our restaurant.


This is more than an order-taking position. We're looking for a confident, hospitality-driven professional who can lead by example, build relationships with guests, drive sales through thoughtful recommendations, and help create exceptional dining experiences every shift.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver warm, attentive, and professional service from greeting through farewell
  • Guide guests through our seasonal menu and confidently recommend food, beverages, wine, and specials
  • Build rapport with guests and create memorable dining experiences that encourage repeat visits
  • Maintain extensive knowledge of menu offerings, ingredients, preparation methods, and daily features
  • Support and lead fellow team members through professionalism, teamwork, and positive communication
  • Assist with opening, closing, side work, and dining room organization
  • Ensure service standards, cleanliness, and guest satisfaction remain consistently high
  • Handle guest concerns professionally and proactively
  • Work closely with the kitchen and management team to ensure smooth service execution


What We're Looking For

  • We're seeking a hospitality-driven team member who loves talking about food, confidently shares recommendations, and understands that great service includes helping guests discover the best of what Native Fields has to offer.
  • 3+ years of serving experience preferred
  • Previous experience in a lead server, trainer, fine dining, upscale casual, or high-volume restaurant environment strongly preferred
  • Natural leadership qualities and the ability to mentor and support fellow team members
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain calm, organized, and professional in a fast-paced environment
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and exceptional reliability
  • Food Handler Certification required
  • Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) Certification preferred or willingness to obtain
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
