Job Description

SSP is seeking a reliable Utility Worker to support our Food & Beverage Operations. In this role, you’ll ensure a clean, safe, and efficient environment by washing dishes, sanitizing kitchen and dining areas, handling waste, and restocking supplies. You’ll work closely with cooks and servers to maintain smooth operations and uphold strict food safety, hygiene, and safety standards. Ideal candidates are team-oriented, able to lift and stand for extended periods, follow detailed procedures, and thrive in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment committed to safety and quality.
Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment following food safety standards
Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, storage, and dining areas, including floors, surfaces, and trash receptacles
Handle waste, recycling, and compost according to company and safety guidelines
Restock supplies such as dishes, utensils, cleaning products, and disposables
Support cooks and servers by organizing equipment and ensuring workstations are stocked and clean
Operate basic cleaning and dishwashing equipment safely and report maintenance issues
Follow all food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety procedures and wear required PPE
Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating inventory using FIFO practices
Respond promptly to spills or hazards to maintain a safe environment for staff and guests
Collaborate with team members and supervisors to support smooth daily operations
Dishwashing and sanitation procedures
Safe operation of commercial dish machines
Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
Use of cleaning chemicals and PPE
Basic inventory restocking and stock rotation (FIFO)
Waste, recycling, and compost handling
Following written and verbal instructions
Time management in fast-paced environments
Basic equipment and facility care/maintenance reporting
Teamwork and communication in food service settings
