Job Description
CalPortland seeks a Quality Control Supervisor to lead QA & Testing for cement, concrete, and asphalt products. In this on-site role, you will oversee lab and field testing, supervise technicians, and ensure materials meet ASTM, ACI, DOT, and company standards. You will analyze test data, drive corrective actions, support sustainable production practices, and partner closely with operations and project teams. Lead daily quality control activities for cement, concrete, and asphalt production
Develop, implement, and improve QA/QC procedures and testing protocols
Supervise and mentor lab and field technicians ensuring accurate testing
Review and approve test reports, mix designs, and corrective actions
Coordinate with operations and project teams to resolve quality issues
Ensure compliance with ASTM, ACI, DOT, and company standards
Maintain calibration, documentation, and quality records for audits
Support safety initiatives and enforce site and lab safety practices
Analyze test data to identify trends and recommend process improvements
Collaborate cross‑functionally to support sustainable, high-quality products
Construction materials testing (concrete, asphalt, aggregates)
Knowledge of ASTM/ACI/DOT quality standards
Quality control/quality assurance program management
Concrete and asphalt mix design review
Data analysis and statistical quality control
Lab and field testing equipment operation
Technical report writing and documentation
Team supervision and staff training
Nonconformance and root cause analysis
Proficiency with QA/LIMS or lab data software

ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I (preferred)
ACI Concrete Strength Testing Technician (preferred)
NICET certification in Construction Materials Testing (preferred)
OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety (preferred)
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
